RI Junior Amateur to Return to Pawtucket CC in 2026 & ’27

Pawtucket Country Club will host the 2026 and 2027 Rhode Island Junior Amateur Tournaments, RIGA Executive Director Bob Ward announced on Friday.

Pawtucket has hosted each of the last two Junior Ams (2024, 2025), and will host at least the next two in the coming years.

“It’s a very distinct honor for us to be able to host any RIGA event, however the juniors is particularly impressive for us, because the future of golf lies with all the juniors and we try to support that as much as possible. The owners (Gary Reis and wife, Beth) are very cognizant of the fact that the juniors need a good place to play and we’re going to be hosting this tournament for the next two years,” said Pawtucket member Paul Rego in a RIGA release.

The 2027 RI Junior Amateur will mark the 125th anniversary of Pawtucket Country Club and of the Rhode Island Golf Association.

No exact dates have been set yet for the two future Junior Amateurs.

The 2025 RI Junior Amateur was won by AJ Colonna on the boys side, and on the girls side, Lily Dessel repeated as champion.
