URI Alum Sean Magarian Wins Amateur Invitational
University of Rhode Island alum Sean Magarian won the Amateur Invitational on Thursday afternoon at New England Country Club.
Magarian finished at two-under par for the tournament to win by one shot over Ricky Stimets and fellow Ram Aidan O’Donovan.

In the tournament, Magarian carded a first round 71 and a final round 69 to claim the trophy.
He played at URI for one season as a grad student and helped the team reach the National Golf Invitational.
Magarian’s Round
Magarian’s second round got off to a shaky start with a bogey on the third hole.
However, he rebounded with birdies on the seventh and eighth holes to get to one-under on the day and back into contention.
On the back side, Magarian birdied the 12th hole and parred out the rest of the way to hold on for the victory.
