Patrick Welch Makes Cut on Number at KFT’s Veritex Bank Championship
Classical grad Patrick Welch made the cut right on the number at the Korn Ferry Tour’s Veritex Bank Championship on Saturday morning.
The tournament’s first round on Thursday was almost a complete wash out and so most players did not finish the second round until this morning.
Welch finished at nine-under par to make the cut with rounds of 68 and 65.

According to the Korn Ferry Tour, the 9-under 133 is the lowest 36-hole cut score in KFT history.
Welch will begin his third round at 4:02 p.m. on Saturday.
The lead is 18-under par.
Chatfield Misses Cut
On the flip side, former RI Amateur champion Davis Chatfield missed the cut this week.
Chatfield finished at six-under par for the tournament with rounds of 65 and 71 to miss the cut by three shots.
This is just his second missed cut of the season.
Chatfield is projected to slip from ninth on the Points List to tenth.
