URI Takes 6th at A-10 Championship, Stennett Named Rookie of Year
The University of Rhode Island golf team finished in sixth place at the A-10 Championship this week down in Florida.
Rhode Island finished with a team score of 881 (17-over) for the tournament to finish one shot ahead of George Mason for sixth.

Rhody was two-under as a team after the first round, but then a five-over second round and a 14-over final round moved them down the leaderboard.
The A-10 Championship was won by Davidson at 10-under par.

The Rams were led by Sam Magarian, who finished in a tie for 11th place overall at one-under par for the tournament.
Freshman Tyler Bruneau finished in 22nd at four-over for the tournament, while Josiah Tong took 27th, Luke Stennett 28th and Aidan O’Donovan 39th.
Stennett Named Rookie of Year
Following the tournament, Luke Stennett was named the A-10 Rookie of the Year.
He is the first URI player to win the award since the award was introduced in 2017.
In his first season at Rhode Island, he played in eight regular season tournaments, winning one of them and recording five top-five finishes.
