Vinny Papa Commits to Anderson University for Golf

Rhode Island’s Vinny Papa has verbally committed to Anderson University to play golf, she announced on social media on Thursday.

Papa is currently a junior in high school and will attend Anderson in the fall of 2026.

“I’m very exited to announce that I verbally committed to play golf at Anderson University in South Carolina. I would like to thank Coach Moore and Coach Castles for this amazing opportunity. Along with my parents, sister, and everyone who helped along this journey,” writes Papa.

Papa is coming off a big fall season playing in Challenge Cup events.

She won the Nutmeg Championship, the Ocean State Junior Classic and finished second at the Granite State Junior Classic – losing in a playoff.

Papa also competed in the Notah Begay III National Championship back in October.

About Anderson University

The Trojans compete in NCAA Division II and are in the South Atlantic Conference.

In the latest Women’s golf Coaches Poll (November 15), Anderson is ranked as the number one team in the country in all of Division II.

And according to Papa, they are investing in the golf program.

“They are building a 7,000 square-foot putting green, three indoor/outdoor ranges with trackman, and new locker rooms. This will all be done by the Spring of 2026. Place is beautiful,” Papa tells GolfNewsRI.

Anderson is coached by Denton Moore, who also serves as the Director of Golf.
