Peter Uihlein Suffers Heartbreaking Loss at International Series Thailand

Former Northeast Amateur champion Peter Uihlein lost by one shot at International Series Thailand.

Starting the final round with a three shot lead, Uihlein carded a final round 67, but lost to Lee Chien-po, who fired a 63 with birdies on 17 and 18.

“I mean, yesterday was awful on the greens, and that kind of put everyone in a position where, if they go out and shoot 63, 62 they’d have a chance. And, so, it was kind of yesterday that I shot myself in the foot a little bit. But today I made a bogey on the last and I missed a couple of easy putts. It is what it is,” said Uihlein after the round.

Uihlein was in search of his second title on the International Series in a three month stretch.

Uihlein is ranked second in the International Series standings overall with 621 points.

He is behind fellow American John Catlin.
