Ed Kirby Wins New England PGA Championship

Rhode Island’s Ed Kirby won the New England PGA Championship on Thursday at Tedesco Country Club in Massachusetts. 

Over the three round event, Kirby finished at one-over par to win by one shot over Liam Friedman and Boomer Erick. 

The win sends Kirby tot he PGA Professional National Championship next April in Florida. 

The victory also banks Kirby $12K.

Kirby’s Final Round 

After rounds of 74 and 71 over the first two days, Kirby closed out the tournament with a round of 68. 

The Aquidneck Club Pro opened the final round with a bogey on the first hole, but got it back with a birdie on the fifth. 

He turned at even par. 

On the back side, Kirby birdied the 12th hole and the 14th hole before parring out to win the tournament.
