Rhode Island’s Brad Faxon will be part of NBC’s U.S. Open coverage, the network announced on Monday.
Faxon will be part of a four-man booth featuring Golf Channel’s Brandel Shamble, Mike Tirico and Dan Hicks.
“This year we began utilizing an odd/even system of hole assignments for our commentator pairings. Our new approach lets our play-by-play announcers give more context for what’s happening, while creating more opportunities for our analysts and on-course reporters to engage with each other and break down the ‘why’ and the ‘how’ before and after each moment,” said Sam Flood, executive producer and president, production, NBC Sports.
Jim ‘Bones’ MacKay and Roger Maltbie will serve as on course reporters, while Gary Koch will be an analyst.
The 124th U.S. Open will be held June 13-16 at Pinehurst Resort.
