Rhode Island is led by grad student Bryson Richards.

Richards is an eight-time A-10 Golfer of the Week with six career tournament tiles.

As far as the individual A-10 title goes, Richards is among the favorites.

Rhody has also gotten plenty of contributions this season from freshmen Tony Liu and Josiah Tong who have both recorded top 5-10 finishes this season.

Tong was named A-10 Rookie of the Week this past week.

URI This Season

Going back to the fall season, URI has finished second in four of its last seven tournaments.

Most recently, Rhody tied for fourth place at the highly-competitive 14-team Rutherford Intercollegiate.

Rhody moved up five spots on the team leader board in the final round.

“We had a very nice day today, improving by 13 shots from the second round and 20 shots from the first round,” said Head Coach Gregg Burke after the tournament.

Sophomore Aidan O’Donovan was strong, placing fifth on the individual leader board.

About the Course

The par-72, 7,068-yard Cypress Course is a Jack Nicklaus-designed course opened this year.

The Parkland-style course includes a true island green par-3 on the third hole.

The Cypress Course is a renovation of the site’s previous Grand Cypress Course.

The Atlantic 10 Championship was last held there for four straight years from 2016-19.

Thirteen of the 18 holes remain mostly the same from the previous incarnation.
