Francoeur Inside Top 20 as Play Suspended at Brazil Open

Former University of Rhode Island star Chris Francoeur sits inside the top 20 at the Brazil Open on PGA Tour Americas through a round and three holes. 

Play was suspended during the early stages of Francoeur’s second round on Friday. 

Francoeur is five-under for the tournament and is in a tie for 14th overall. 

He is only three holes into his second round.

Francoeur’s First Round 

In the first round on Thursday, Francoeur came out hot, birding three of his first five holes to get to three-under for the tournament. 

The former Rhody Ram then birdied the ninth to turn at four-under. 

On the back nine, Francoeur birdied the par-4 11th Hoel to get to five under on the day. 

He bogeyed 15, but then eagled the par-5 18 to end the first round at six-under. 

Francoeur is one-over through three holes in the second round for a total of five-under.
