Francoeur Advances to Valspar Championship Monday Qualifier
Former University of Rhode Island star Chris Francoeur has advances to the Monday Qualifier for the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship.
Francoeur took co-medalist honors with David Carey at Southern Hills Plantation with a score of seven-under par.

This is the second pre-qualifier that Francoeur has advanced through in the last couple of weeks.
Overall, 17 players moved on with the cut coming at three-under par.
Former Rhode Island Amateur champion Andrew O’Leary finished at one-over 73 for the tournament .
Francoeur’s Round
Francoeur got off to a hot start in the round, opening with birdies on four of the first five holes.
The former Rhody Ram added another birdie on the seventh to turn at five-under and well inside the cut line.
On the back side, Francoeur birdied the 12th hole and made another birdie on the 14th hole, getting him to seven-under on the round.
He would par out to card a 65.
Francoeur made no bogeys in the round.
