Chatfield’s Back 9 Rally Salvages First Round of KFT’s Argentina Open
With three holes left in the first round of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Argentina Open, Davis Chatfield sat at two over par and in a tie for 131st.
However, the former Rhode Island Amateur Champ would close the round with an epic rally to finish the round at two-under par and in a tie for 51st.

Chatfield is six shots off the lead of Ryan Blaum (8-under) heading into the second round on Friday.
Meanwhile, Patrick Welch carded a two-over 72 and sits in a tie for 131st.
He will have work to do on Friday to make the cut.
Chatfield Rallies
The former Notre Dame star started on the back nine and opened with a birdie on the 11th hole.
Following a par on 12, Chatfield made back-to-back bogeys on 13 and 14 to fall to one-over on the round.
Chatfield would take another step backwards with a bogey on 17 to slip to two over, before recovering with a birdie on 18.
He turned at a one-over 36.
Turning to the front side, Chatfield bogeyed the first hole to fall back to two-over on the round.
After three straight pars, Chatfield birdied the fifth hole, but gave it right back with a bogey on the sixth.
He was two-over with three holes to play.
Things turned around on the seventh hole when Chatfield birdied the par-3 to get back to one-over.
On the par-5 eighth hole, Chatfield put it on the green in two and drained a big putt for eagle to get to one-under on the round.
Coming to the 18th, Chatfield finished off the rally with a birdie to head to the clubhouse at two-under.
