The Massachusetts Golf Association announced that it is lowering the maximum Handicap Index eligibility for the Mass Amateur and Mid-Amateur. 

The maximum Handicap Index for the Mass Amateur is now 3.6, while the maximum Handicap Index for the Mid-Amateur is lowered to 4.0. 

“Due to the growing number of entries, field sizes and waitlists that have been a part of the Massachusetts Amateur and Mid-Amateur Championships – both events recently underwent a review of eligibility guidelines,” writes Mass Golf on social media. 

Registration for the Massachusetts Amateur opens on March 7, while registration for the Mid-Amateur opens on May 15.
