Francoeur Advances to PGA Tour’s Cognizant Classic Monday Qualifier
Former University of Rhode Island golf star Chris Francoeur has advanced the PGA Tour’s Cognizant Classic Monday Qualifier.
Francoeur pre-qualified at Boca Lago Golf Course in Florida on Wednesday with a score of three-under par 68.

RI’s Brad Adamonis played int he same qualifier, but did not make the cut.
URI commit Tyler Bruneau and RI’s AJ Colonna also tried to pre-qualify on Thursday, but neither made the cut.
URI alum Dawson Jones finished 37th.
Francoeur’s Round
Starting on the first hole, Francoeur made bogey on the par-5, but bounced back with a birdie on the third and another birdie on the fifth.
After three straight pars, Francoeur made another birdie on the ninth hole to turn at two-under.
On the back side, Francoeur made a crucial birdie on the 11th hole to get to three-under for the round.
He parred out to make the cut on the number.
