Chatfield Finishes 1-Under Par in First KFT Round of Season
Davis Chatfield and Patrick Welch completed their first round of the season on the Korn Ferry Tour on Sunday in the Bahamas.
Chatfield birdied the last hole to finish at one-under par (71) for the day.
When he walked off the course, he was in a tie for 31st, he has since dropped into a tie for 48th with players still on the course.
Welch finished one-over for the round (73) and in a tie for 89th.
The lead is KK Limbhasut at eight-under.
Chatfield’s Round
Starting on the back nine, Chatfield made birdie on the tenth hole and parred out the rest of the way to turn at one-under.
Coming to the front side, the former Notre Dame star bogeyed the par-5 first hole, then made another bogey on the fifth hole to move to one-over on the day.
Following the bogey on five, Chatfield bounced back with a birdie on six and closed the round with a birdie on the par-5 ninth to finish at one-under.
Welch’s Round
Welch also started on the back side and following a par on the tenth hole, he made bogey on 11.
After a string of three pars, Welch birdied the 15th but closed the opening nine with back-to-back bogeys to turn at two-over.
Turning to the front side, the former Classical star dropped birdies on the first and third holes, but gave them back with bogeys on the fifth and sixth.
Like Chatfield, Welch also closed with a birdie on the ninth hole to finish at one-over for the tournament.
