GolfNewsRI’s Women’s Players to Watch in 2024
Rhode Island may be the smallest state, but it is full of great golf talent, with more on the way.
Whether it’s talent that is still playing locally or talent that has taken the next step in their careers, Rhode Island has a lot to be excited about in 2024
With the Players to Watch, GolfNewsRI aims to highlight two men’s and two women’s players that could be/will be making moves during the 2024 season.
And not necessarily the star players.
So without further ado, here are GolfNewsRI’s Women’s Players to Watch in 2024:
Allison Paik: GolfNewsRI’s first ever podcast guest will take her final year of college golf eligibility at Clemson University starting in the fall of 2024.
Paik will be on the Clemson roster as a graduate student after finishing her career at Columbia this spring.
At Columbia, Paik is fourth on the team in stroke average and is the reigning team MVP.
“Allison will be our first ever graduate transfer and we welcome her Ivy League experience as she has been a mainstay in the Columbia lineup throughout her undergraduate career,” said Clemson Head Coach Kelley Hester.
Going from the Ivy League to the ACC will be a step up for Paik. It will be fun to watch her compete on a bigger stage.
Susie Cavanagh: The two-time Rhode Island Women’s Amateur champ has joined the professional golf ranks and is grinding on the mini-tours.
This past season, Cavanagh missed the Epson Tour Q-School cut by one shot, but will seek redemption in 2024.
Cavanagh will be sharpening her game this winter on the NXXT Women’s Pro Tour down in Florida which starts in the just a couple of days.
Following that, Cavanagh will get into the heart of her pro season on the Annika Women’s All-Pro Tour which begins next April.
Not to mention some Monday qualifiers, major championship qualifiers and more.

Honorable Mentions
Angel MacLeod: She won the RI Women’s Senior Amateur, and the Wannamoisett Women’s Club Championship last season. Then, shortly after all of that, MacLeod was named the new head coach of the Bryant University Women’s Golf Team.
Last month, MacLeod got her first commit for the 2024-25 season in Miranda Prober.
2024 could be an exciting year for MacLeod and Bryant.
Kylie Eaton: The former Rhode Island Women’s Amateur champion graduated from Moses Brown last spring and is spending this year down in Florida at IMG Academy.
This past week, Eaton finished sixth down at the Doral Jr. Classic.
Coming in 2024, she will look to make a decision on college and regain he Women’s Am crown.
