Chatfield Cards Opening Round 70 at 2nd Stage of PGA Tour Q-School
Davis Chatfield carded an opening round 70 (2-under) in the second stage of PGA Tour Q-School on Tuesday at Valencia Country Club in California.
The former Rhode Island Amateur champ is in a tie for eighth place after the first round.

The top 13 players and ties at the end of the week advance to the final stage of Q-School.
Chatfield has already locked up full status on the Korn Ferry Tour for next season, however a good run through Q-School could earn him a PGA Tour Card.
Chatfield’s Round
Starting on the back side, Chatfield opened with back-to-back birdies on the first two holes and then parred out the rest of the way to turn at 2-under 34.
Turning to the front, Chatfield saved par on holes one and two, but then doubled the par-3 third hole to fall back to even par.
This put him outside the cut line.
The former Notre Dame star bounced back with a birdie on the fourth hole and then closed with a birdie on nine to get back to two-under for the day and inside the cut.
Of course, there are still three rounds left.
