VIDEO: URI Commit Bruneau Helps Benjamin School to Florida State Title

University of Rhode Island commit Tyler Bruneau and the Benjamin School Buccaneers have won the Florida High School Golf State Championship on Wednesday at Mission Resort + Club.

The Bucs posted a two-round team score of 602 to beat First Academy by one shot and win the title.

Individually, Bruneau finished in 34th overall with rounds of 79 and 77. 

He will be a freshman at URI next fall.

Overall, the Benjamin School was led in the tournament by Jake Valentine and Brooks Colton, who finished 8th and 12th respectively. 

Charlie Woods posted rounds of 78 and 76 to finish in 26th, while Bruneau finished 34th.

There were a total of 16 teams and more than 90 players competing for the title.
