Brett Quigley Added to USA Roster for World Champions Cup

Rhode Island’s Brett Quigley has been added to Team USA’s roster for the inaugural World Champions Cup, tournament chairman Peter Jacobsen announced on Tuesday. 

The World Champions Cup will take place from December 7-10 at The Concession Golf Club in Florida and will be broadcast on ABC and ESPN.

“Adding Brett to our room really rounds out our roster nicely. I’m excited about the level of play and the passion that he will bring to Team USA. We can’t wait to get to the first tee in a few weeks,” said U.S. Captain Jim Furyk in a press release. 

In his Champions Tour career, Quigley has two wins, including at this year’s Furyk + Friends tournament in October. 

He has finished in the top ten in tournaments ten times this season. 

Quigley finished 11th in the Charles Schwab Cup standings.

· David Toms (Automatic Qualifier)

· Jerry Kelly (Chairman’s Selection)

· Brett Quigley (Chairman’s Selection)

About the World Champions Cup 

According to the Tour, the World Champions Cup is a three-team (USA, Europe, International,) three-day match that will feature players competing in nine hole matches of team play and singles play. 

“The rosters that we have assembled for the first playing of the World Champions Cup look incredible. An event like this has been long overdue, and we are all extremely excited to get underway in just 23 days,” said Jacobsen. 

Points will be given for each hole won. 

The team with the most points at the end wins.
