BREAKING: TPC Boston to Host LPGA Tour Event in 2024

The LPGA Tour is coming to New England.
TPC Boston will host the inaugural 2024 FM Global Championship in 2024, the tour announced on Friday.
According to the LPGA Tour, this tournament will offer one of the largest purses of the season.
“Boston is quickly becoming a dynamic home for women’s sports. We are thrilled to join this incredible movement, as the famed TPC Boston prepares to his the 2024 FM Global Championship, marking a historic return of the LPGA Tour to New England,” said LPGa Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan.

The tournament will take place from August 29 to September 1, and featured 144 players competing for a $3.5 million purse.
According tot he press release, this is a five-year commitment from FM Global.
“We are proud to partner with the LPGA Tour to support this new, marquee event and bring women’s professional golf back to New England,” said Malcolm Roberts, president and chief executive officer of FM Global.
This championship marks the first time the LPGA Tour has returned to New England since the 2006 U.S. Women’s Open, which was held at Newport Country Club and won by Annika Sorenstam.
The announcement of this tournament comes just a few short months after the LPGA Tour announced a partnership with Fenway Sports Management.
In the press release, the LPGA Tour acknowledges that Fenway Sports Management was a big part of bringing the LPGA Tour back.
