Francoeur 1 Shot Off Q-School Cut Line with 18 Holes to Play

With just 18 holes to play, former University of Rhode Island star Chris Francoeur sits one shot outside the cut line at Stage 1 of PGA Tour Q-School in Florida.
Francoeur carded a third round 70 and sits a six-under par for the tournament.

As of Thursday evening, the cut is seven-under par, but obviously, that can change as the final round progresses.
Massachusetts native Jimmy Herbal leads the tournament at 16-under par.

Coming off a second round 66, Francouer looked to build on that momentum and put himself in a good spot heading into he final round.
After two opening pars, he bogeyed the third hole, but quickly made up for it with a birdie on the fifth and an eagle on the par-5 eighth hole.
He made the turn at two-under par 33.
On the back side, the former Rhody Ram saved par on 10, 11 and 12, before dropping birdies on the 13th and 15th holes.
At this point he was well inside the cut line.
Disaster struck not he par-4 17th hole when Francoeur made a triple bogey seven to slide down the leaderboard and outside the cut.
He saved par on 18 to card a 70.
