Francoeur in 33rd After Opening Round of PGA Tour Q-School Stage 1

Former University of Rhode Island star Chris Francoeur carded an even par 71 in the opening round of PGA Tour Q-School Stage 1 at The Falls Club in Florida. 

Francoeur currently sits in a tie for 33rd. 

The top 20 players and ties make the cut after Friday’s final round.

As of Tuesday night, the cut is two-under par. 

Florida’s Kyle Sterbinsky leads the tournament at nine-under.

Francoeur’s Round

Starting on the tenth. Hole, Francoeur opened with two pars, followed by birdies at the 12th and 14th holes. 

He would par out to turn at two-under. 

On the back side, Francoeur saved par on the first three holes, but then bogeyed the fourth hole and made another bogey on the par-3 seventh hole to finish at even par. 

Going into the rest of the week, Francoeur will look to take advantage of the par-5s. 

There are three of them on the course and in round one, Francoeur played them at even par.
