Korn Ferry Tour Championship – What’s at Stake for Chatfield & Welch

Both Davis Chatfield and Patrick Welch have locked up some job security for the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour season.

But, heading into this week’s Korn Ferry Tour Championship at Victoria National Golf Club in Indiana, there is still a lot at stake.

Davis Chatfield & Patrick Welch

Chatfield tees off at 9:33 a.m. eastern time off the first tee, while Welch tees off at 10:39 a.m. eastern time off the tenth tee.

Coverage can be seen on Golf Channel throughout the weekend.

Scenarios to Watch

PGA Tour Cards

Chatfield is currently 62nd on the Korn Ferry Tour points list, and Patrick Welch is 73rd.

For either of them to snag a PGA Tour card (top 30), they would have to win the tournament this week.

Finishing 31-60

Players who finish in positions 31-60 on the points list get an automatic bid to the final stage of PGA Tour Q-School.

That would give Welch and Chatfield and opportunity to earn a PGA Tour card without having much to lose.

As mentioned, they already have full Korn Ferry Tour status locked up for next season.

The top five players and ties after the final stage of Q-School earn a PGA Tour card.

Finishing 61-75

This is where both Welch and Chatfield are right now, in this area.

If they finish this way, they will be exempt into the second stage of PGA Tour Q-School, with again, not a ton to lose.
