Rhode Islanders at the Ryder Cup – Friday, Sept. 29, 2023
It was a pretty miserable day for Team USA and their fans on Friday at the Ryder Cup in Rome, Italy.
After the opening day, the U.S. trails Europe 6 1/2 to 1 1/2.
The U.S. failed to win a match on the day.
Rhode Island’s Despina Metakos Harris, and her husband Cody, were on the grounds on Tuesday and will be there Friday as well.
“The coolest things that have happened are 1. Scottie Scheffler’s dad gave us flags at 5:30 a.m. Davis Love said ‘Hi” to me and Rickie Fowler’s dad handed us the team coin,” said Despina in a text to GolfNewsRI.
Despina is a member at Triggs and owns the golf brand “Submarine Golf.”
