Patrick Reed’s Lawsuit Against Golf Media Dismissed by Federal Judge
Patrick Reed’s lawsuit against a slew of golf media personalities and writers has been dismissed by a federal judge, the court announced on Wednesday.
As was reported, Reed filed a lawsuit against Golf Channel’s Brandel Chamblee, GolfWeek’s Eamon Lynch, Shane Bacon and other journalists for defamation.

“While Reed may be frustrated at the [negative media coverage] he fails to bring actionable defamation claims [under the First Amendment],” reads the order.
The Lawsuit
The lawsuit claims that “calculated, malicious attacks have had a direct effect on Mr. Reed’s livelihood.”
Reed also claims that Chamblee has a history of calling him a cheater, and has harshly criticized him and other golfers for their decision to leave the PGA Tour for LIV.
At the end of the lawsuit, Reed calls for a full jury trial on all accusations.
