La Salle’s Charlie Melvin Finishes 7th at Myrtle Beach World Amateur

La Salle senior Charlie Melvin finished in tie for seventh this week at the Myrtle Beach World Amateur. 

Melvin qualified for flight two of the tournament which is for players ranging from a 0.4-1.6 handicap index.

He carded rounds of 81, 77 and 77 in the three day tournament to tie for seventh.  

The final round was played in nearly 40 mph winds due to the hurricane in Florida. 

Adrian Dyson won the flight. 

Melvin flies home on Sunday to get his senior year underway. 

He will also be playing for the Glocester Men’s Club Championship on September 10.
