Chatfield 2 Shots Back Heading into Weekend, Welch Misses Cut

Davis Chatfield made eight birdies en route to a second round 63 and heads into the weekend two shots off the lead at the Korn Ferry Tour’s Boise Open.
Chatfield is 12-under for the tournament and in a tie for fifth place, two shots back of Ben Kohler and Chan Kim, who are 14-under.

The former Rhode Island Amateur champ started the tournament with a first round 67, and followed up with a bogey-free 63 on Friday to climb the leaderboard.
Chatfield tees off at 2:10 p.m. on Saturday with Camillo Villegas.
Patrick Welch missed the cut by five shots after making a triple bogey on the seventh hole.
Chatfield’s 2nd Round
Starting on the back side, Chatfield made his first birdie of the day on the 12th hole to get to one-under for the round.
He then dropped back-to-back birdies on the 15th and 16th holes to turn at three-under 32.
Turning to the front side, Chatfield made four birdies in a row from the first to the fourth holes to get to seven-under on the round.
He birdied the sixth to get to eight-under and parred out the rest of the way to stay at that number.
