Welch, Chatfield Jockeying for Position as KFT Finals Begin

With leg one of the Korn Ferry Tour finals set to begin this week in Idaho, Patrick Welch and Davis Chatfield are both jockeying for position on the points list.
In fact, they are jockeying against each other – literally.
Heading into the week, Chatfield is 70th on the points list with a total of 305 points.

Missing the cut last week dropped him two spots.
Meanwhile, Welch’s T3 finish last week shot him up the standings from 116th to 71 with 301 points.
The top 30 players at the end of the finals (early October) get their PGA Tour cards.
Obviously, both Welch and Chatfield are well outside the top 30, however, a high finish or two, certainly a win, would see them vault up the points list and into a good spot.
Welch tees off at 10:55 a.m. on Thursday, while Chatfield is at 3:35 p.m.
Korn Ferry Tour Finals
This year’s revamped finals consists of four tournaments with the winner of each tournament getting 600 points.
The finals begin this week at the Boise Open, continue in mid-September at the Simmons Bank Open, then the Nationwide Children’s Championship and then the Korn Ferry Tour Championship.
