Northeast Am Champ Nick Dunlap Wins U.S. Amateur
What a summer for Nick Dunlap.
The 2023 Northeast Amateur champ beat Neal Shipley 4&3 to win the U.S. Amateur on Sunday at Cherry Hills in Colorado.
He and Tiger Woods are now the only players ever to win both a U.S. Junior Amateur and a U.S. Amateur.
“I think it’s only a third of what he’s done. Just to be in the same conversation with Tiger is a dream come true and something I’ve worked for my whole life,” said Dunlap after the round.
The Alabama rising sophomore has now won the Northeast Am, North & South Amateur and the U.S. Amateur in one summer.
Dunlap will now get into The Masters, U.S. Open and British Open.
