Allison Paik Loses in 19 Holes at MA Women’s Amateur

Heartbreaker. 

Allison Paik lost to Clara Chae in 19 holes in the round of 32 at the Massachusetts Women’s Amateur being played at Dedham Country & Polo Club. 

Chae drained about a 20 foot birdie putt on the 19th hole (first hole), while Paik’s birdie putt missed. 

Chae went on to lose in the round of 16.

The Match 

Paik took a one-up lead on the third hole, before Chae tied it on the seventh hole. 

Chae took a one-up lead of her own on the eighth hole, before Paik tied it on the ninth. 

Chae again took a one-up lead on 11, but Paik got it right back on 12. 

The back and forth continued. 

Paik took a one-up lead on the 15th hole, but Chae came back and won the next two to make a one-up lead back. 

Needing to win, Paik saved par on the 18th hole, while Chae made bogey, sending the match to extra holes. 

Back to the first hole, Chae drained a long birdie putt and Paik missed hers.
