Agawam Hunt’s Joel Harvey Qualifies for U.S. Mid-Am
Agawam Hunt member Joel Harvey has qualified for the U.S. Mid-Amateur at Sleepy Hollow Country Club.
Harvey carded a one-over 71 at Sunningdale Country Club in New York to take co-medalist honors and advance to the big tournament.
A total of five players, including Harvey, qualified for the Mid-Am out of Sunningdale.
The Rhode Island qualifier for the Mid-Am will be held on August 22 at Connecticut National.
The U.S. Mid-Am will be held from September 9 -14.
Harvey’s Round
Harvey opened the round on the 11th hole.
He then birdied the 12th and then dropped another birdie on the 15th to get to two under par.
Harvey made the turn for the first time with bogeys on the 16th and 18th holes.
On the front side, he bogeyed the first hole, birdied the fourth and bogeyed the fifth.
Following pars on six and seven, Harvey birdied eight and bogeyed nine to card a 36 on the front.
With one hole to go, Harvey saved par on ten.
