Chatfield in 6th After Round 1 of Pinnacle Bank Championship

Davis Chatfield fired a bogey-free five-under 66 and sits in a tie for sixth place after the first round of the Pinnacle Bank Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour. 

The tournament is being played at The Club at Indian Creek in Nebraska.

With three rounds to go, Chatfield is three shots back of leader Alejandro Tosti, who is eight under. 

Classical High School grad Patrick Welch is three-under for the tournament and in a tie for 22nd after round one. 

Welch carded a 12th place finish last week.

Chatfield’s Round 

Chatfield got off to a hot start in the tournament, making birdie on three of his first four holes to get to three-under. 

He strung together three straight pars and then birdied the eighth hole to turn at four-under. 

The back side, was pretty clinical for Chatfield. 

He parred every hole except for the 13th where he made a birdie to card a 66. 

Welch’s Round 

Starting on the back side, Welch opened with a bogey on the tenth hole, but got it back with a birdie on the 12th hole. 

After four straight pars, Welch birdied the 17th hole to turn at one-under. 

Turning to the front side, Welch birdied the fourth hole and dropped another on the par-5 seventh hole to finish at three-under for the day.
