Welch Fires 2nd Round 65 to Make KFT Cut, Chatfield Misses by Shot

Patrick Welch carded a second round 65 to launch himself 27 spots up the leaderboard and make the cut at the Korn Ferry Tour’s Utah Championship.
Welch started the round at three-under for the tournament and now sits at nine-under overall and in a tie for 29th.

Meanwhile, Davis Chatfield finished at five-under for the tournament and missed the cut by one shot.
There is a three-way tie for the lead at 14-under par between Kevin Dougherty, Shad Tuten and Chris Petefish.
Welch’s 65
Starting on the front side, Welch birdied the second hole to get off to a good start.
Following pars on three and four, Welch birdied the fifth and seventh holes to turn at three-under.
On the back side, Welch strung together birdies on the 12th, 13th and 14th holes to get to six-under for the round.
He parred in the rest of the way to stay at that number.
Welch was bogey free in the round.
