Chatfield, Welch Off to Strong Starts at KFT’s NV5 Invitational
Davis Chatfield and Patrick Welch are off to strong starts at the Korn Ferry Tour’s NV5 Invitational this week in Chicago.
Chatfield fired a first round 67 (4-under) to start the week in a tie for 59th.
The former Notre Dame star was four-under on the front nine, got it to five-under on the tenth hole, but then bogeyed the 14th to be even par for the backside.
Welch carded a three-under 68 in the first round and currently sits in a tie for 90th after the first round.
The Classical grad was two-under after the first nine, and got it two four-under through 11 holes.
However, a double-bogey seven on the par-5 14th hole (5th hole on course) proved costly.
Ryan McCormick leads the way at 11-under.
