Olivia Williams Wins RI Girls Junior Amateur

La Salle rising junior Olivia Williams won her second straight Rhode Island Girls Junior Amateur on Thursday afternoon at Ledgemont Country Club.
Williams edged Kylie Eaton on the 18th hole to win the match 1 up.
“This was a tough match against Kylie, she played good,” said Williams after the round.

This was the third straight year in which Eaton and Williams have played in the Junior Amateur Championship final.
Eaton won in 2021, Williams has won each of the last two.
Next up for both players will be the Rhode Island Women’s Amateur at Kirkbrae.
Kylie Eaton is the defending champion.
The Match
Williams took a two-up lead against Eaton into the 11th hole.
Eaton won the 11th and 12 to tie the match.
The rollercoaster would continue on the side as Williams would take a one-up lead on 13, Eaton tied on 14 and Williams took another one-up lead on 15.
Eaton then won 16, the two halved 17 and Williams won on 18 with a five against Eaton’s six.
The were only five holes that were halved the entire match.
