Kevin Silva Leads Locals at New England Am Entering Final Round
Former Rhode Island Amateur champion Kevin Silva leads the Rhode Island contingent heading into the final round of the New England Amateur at The Woodlands Club in Maine.
Silva is two-over for the tournament and tied for 11th with Ricky Stimets.
Through two rounds, Silva has posted a 74 and followed up with a second round 7 for a total of 146.
Massachusetts’ Joseph Leanne leads the way at seven-under par.
Making the Cut
While Silva leads the way, multiple Rhode Islanders made the 36-hole cut.
Four-time Rhode Island Amateur champ Bobby Leopold is in a tie for 27th at five-over par following rounds of 76 and 73.
Mark Wilson is in 47th, while Harry Dessel and Jon Cooper are in a tie for 54th.
