Ed Kirby Takes Co-Medalist Honors in NEPGA Stroke Play – Marlborough

Aquidneck Club’s Ed Kirby finished in a three-way tie for medalist honors at the New England PGA Stroke Play – Marlborough tournament on Monday at Marlborough Country Club. 

Kirby, as well as, David Jankowski and Robert Bruno finished at four-under (67) for the tournament.

They each took home just over $1,000.

Kirby’s Round

Kirby started out with a birdie on the first hole, but followed up with bogeys on four and five to drop to one-over. 

He got back to even with a birdie on the par-3 third hole and turned at that even number. 

The back side is where Kirby made his run. 

He birdied ten and 11, then dropped another birdie on the 13th hole to get to three-under for the day. 

After four-straight pars, Kirby birdied 18 to get to four-under and tie for the lead. 

Other RI Pros in Field 

Brendon Ray finished in a tie for sixth at two-under par. 

Triggs’ Bob Tramonti finished at two-over and in a tie for 31st. 

Newport National’s Chris Hulme finished in a tie for 40th at three-over par, while Nick Jagoe finished in 59th.
