Brad Adamonis Birdies 18 to Win Connecticut Senior Open

Brad Adamonis made a birdie on the final hole to win the Connecticut Senior Open at Shennecossett Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon. 

Adamonis finished the tournament at five-under to edge Frank Bensel by one shot.

The two players were tied with three holes left before Adamonis ended it.

The Rhode Island native began the second day of the tournament one shot back of Bensel after the two players shot 68-67 in the first round respectively. 

Following a par on one, Adamonis birdied the second hole, then dropped another birdie on the fifth hole. 

A birdie on eight combined with a Bensel bogey on four, gave Adamonis the lead heading into the back nine. 

On the back side, Adamonis made back-to-back bogeys on 13 and 14 to drop him into a tie with Bensel. 

Adamonis birdied the par-5 18th hole to win. 

Other RIers in Field 

Bryant head coach Charlie Blanchard finished in a tie for fourth with West Warwick’s Artie Wilson. 

Triggs’ Bob Tramonti finished in a tie for 11th, while Kings Crossings’ Peter Walsh finished in 74th.
