For the first time in his young professional career, Davis Chatfield holds a share of the lead entering Saturday’s third round of the Compliance Solutions Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour.

Chatfield fired a career-low 63 in a suspended round two to grab a share of the lead at 12-under par.

“I feel like I didn’t really sleep. I felt like I was just kind of staring at the wall for awhile. Got out here at 5:30 a.m. or so, it was an early morning. I got off to a hot start and just kind of picked up where I left off,” said Chatfield after the round.

He added, “Usually when I get in those situations, I kind of freak out, to be honest with you. Think about how long I’m going. But this time I was just super calm the whole time, and I was able to focus one shot at a time and the birdies kept coming and I kept riding that rain.”

Chatfield will tee off for his third round in about an hour.
