Francoeur in 23rd After Opening Round of PGA Tour Canada Event
Former University of Rhode Island star Chris Francoeur carded a two-under 68 in the opening round of the Elk Ridge Saskatchewan Open in Canada.
This is Francoeur’s second PGA Tour Canada event after he finished fourth last week.
Gunn Yang leads the tournament at seven-under par.
Francoeur’s Round
Starting on the back nine, Francoeur opened the tournament with a birdie on the first hole.
Following a string of pars, the former Rhody Ram eagled the 16th to turn at three-under.
Turning to the front side, Francoeur birdied the fifth hole to get it to four-under on the day.
However, a double-bogey on the eighth hole sent him backwards down the leaderboard.
He closed with a 68.
