Welch, Chatfield Tied After Round 1 of KFT’s Compliance Solutions Championship

Patrick Welch and Davis Chatfield are tied after round one of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Compliance Solutions Championship at Jimmie Austin Golf Club on the University of Oklahoma Campus.
The tournament is being played at Welch’s home college course.
Welch and Chatfield both carded first round 69s (3-under) and sit in a tie for 43rd overall.
Rafael Campos and Alan Wagner are tied for the lead at eight-under.
Welch’s Round
The Classical High School grad opened his tournament on the back nine and made one bogey against eight pars to turn at one-over.
The lone bogey came on the 14th hole.

On the front side, Welch made birdies on the third and fourth holes, then added two more birdies on the sixth and eighth holes to card a 69.
Chatfield’s Round
While Welch was playing the back, Chatfield started on the front side.
Chatfield opened by making seven straight pars before making birdie on the par-5 eighth hole to turn at one-under.

Making the turn, Chatfield birdied the 10th hole, and then added birdies on 12 and 14 to get to four-under on the day.
The former Notre Dame star gave one back on 15 to finish at three-under.
