RI Amateur Field Set After Final Qualifier at Fenner Hill

The field for the 2023 Rhode Island Amateur is set after Wednesday’s final qualifier at Fenner Hill.
Overall, 111 players will compete for the title at Montaup from July 10-14.
At Fenner Hill, Chris Rohrs took medalist honors with an even par 72, one shot better than Swansea’s Jordan Klein.
The cut was six-over par with 23 players getting in.
Inside the Cut
Two of the top three players in the qualifier, Chris Rohrs and Henry Sheehan, come from Wannamoisett.
Fresh off of graduation, former Prout star Mark Roberts finished tie for third at two over par.
Five-time defending Triggs club champion Jay Amado is in the field as he finished in a tie for 11th at four-over par.
Gregg Jackson, with son Max on the bag, snuck inside the cut line with a score of five-over par.
His round included an amazing eagle from 74 yards out on the eighth hole.
Coventry High School star Sam Fuentes got in right on the cut line at six-over par.
