Connecticut’s Luke Stennett Verbally Commits to URI Golf
Connecticut’s Luke Stennett has verbally committed to play golf at the University of Rhode Island in the fall of 2024.
Stennett announced the commitment on social media earlier this week.
“I’m extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career to play Division 1 Golf at The University of Rhode Island! It has always been a dream of mine to play Division 1 golf, and I couldn’t have done it without the help and support of my family. Thank you for always believing and pushing me to be the best person I can be,” Stennett writes.
He adds “Huge thanks to Coach Burke for giving me this amazing opportunity. Lastly, I would like to thank everyone who believed in me and thank you all for your support.”
Stennett is currently a junior at Division III Portland High School in Connecticut.
Recently, he won the Division III Championship by eight shots after carding a three-under 68 at Stanley Golf Course.
Stennett is a two-time (and counting) GameTime CT All-State Selection.
He also won the Shoreline Championship at Stanley Golf Course in late May.
