URI’s Gillis, Richards Named to PING All-Northeast Team

University of Rhode Island stars Brandon Gillis and Bryson Richards have been named to the Division I PING Northeast All-Region team.
The announcement was made by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
“To say I am proud of Brandon and Bryson is easy, but to say that this is Rhody Golf and they stood on the shoulders of great young men who built this in the last 10 years is paramount. Two selections from the same team in this list says it all,” said Head Coach Gregg Burke.

Gillis and Richards both were members of the 2023 Atlantic 10 All-Conference Team.
Gillis had an average score of 71.4 over 30 rounds this year, and posted five Top-6 finishes, including medalist honors in the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse.
He was a two-time A-10 Golfer of the Week this year, giving him four for his career.
Richards had six Top-5 finishes and seven Top-7 finishes in 11 events this year.

He won the Rutherford Intercollegiate and was third out of 84 at the Carpetbagger Classic.
Richards averaged 72.0 strokes over 30 rounds and earned one A-10 Golfer of the Week honor.
