Bobby Leopold, Tyler Cooke Set for U.S. Four-Ball Championship

They have been here before…

Bobby Leopold and brother-in-law Tyler Cooke are gearing up for another deep run at the U.S. Four-Ball Championship down at Kiawah Island starting this weekend.

“It’s a great event. Makes it really enjoyable playing with Ty. We are really good friends and family,” Leopold told GolfNewsRI.

The duo have won the Rhode Island Four-Ball multiple times and made it to the sweet 16 of the U.S. Four-Ball back in 2019.

“The format allows us to be aggressive as needed and know we can rely on each other to bail one another out when needed,“ said Leopold.

This year’s tournament goes to famed Kiawah Island River Course and Cassique Course.

“It’s a cool place, so much good golf. Obviously, we aren’t playing the Ocean Course, but River and Cassique look to be a tough test,” added Leopold.

Leopold and Cooke begin their run on Saturday morning at 8:24 a.m. off the first tee at the River Course.

There are two rounds of stroke play, then a cut and then match play begins on Monday.

He adds “Always awesome to get to another USGA event. Nothing like it.”

Other notable players in the field include former NFL Quarterback Tony Romo, New England Amateur star Matt Parziale, and podcaster Drew Stoltz.
