Welch, Oklahoma Punch Ticket to National Championship

Patrick Welch and the University of Oklahoma punched their ticket to the College Golf National Championship on Wednesday afternoon at the NCAA Norman Regional at Jimmie Austin Golf Course.
This is the 12th straight year in which Oklahoma has made it to the National Championship at Grayhawk in Arizona.

The Sooners finished at 25-under for the regional, three shots back of first place Alabama and five shots clear of the cut.
Colorado, Texas Tech and Duke are the other three teams that will advance out of Norman.
The National Championship begins next week.
Welch’s Tournament
For Welch, it was an up and down tournament for him.
He finished in a tie for 23rd at three-under par for the week.
On Wednesday, Welch opened with four birdies on the first six holes to get inside the top ten.
However, he gave it all back with bogeys on the seventh and eighth holes, than a double on the ninth hole to turn at even par.
On the back side, Welch doubled the 11th hole to go over par, before closing with birdies on the 15th and 18th holes.
