Kylie Eaton, Max Jackson Win Hendricken Invitational
Moses Brown’s Kylie Eaton and La Salle’s Max Jackson took home individual honors at the Bishop Hendricken Invitational on Monday afternoon at Warwick Country Club.
Eaton carded a one-under 68 to take the girls title, while Jackson fired a one-over 70 to take the boys title by three shots over Rocco Biafore.
For Eaton, she was the only player (both girls and boys) under par in the entire tournament on a course that offered wind and fast greens.
This is her third straight Hendricken Invitational Title.
Massachusetts-based Thayer Academy won the team event with a score of 304, edging Barrington and St. George’s.
Starting on the fourth round, Eaton opened the tournament with three straight pars before making back-to-back double bogeys.
She made up for it, and more on the back.
Eaton birdied the 11th hole, bogeyed the 13th hole, and then went birdie, eagle, birdie to card a four-under 31 on the back side.
Eaton turned again with three holes to play.
The Moses Brown star birdied the first hole and closed the tournament with two pars to finish at one-under for the day.
Beginning his day on the first hole, Jackson opened with back-to-back bogeys before making a string of pars.
Jackson would get one back with a birdie at the eighth hole to turn at one-over 35.
On the back side, Jackson bogeyed the 11th hole, birdied the 15th hole and then closed with a bogey on 17 and a birdie on 18 to finish at one-over.
