Welch, Oklahoma Get 2-Seed in Norman Regional
Patrick Welch and his Oklahoma Sooners will be staying home for the regional round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Sooners were granted a two-seed in the Norman Regional on Wednesday afternoon during the NCAA Selection Show.
This is the second straight year in which the Sooners will get to play Regionals at Jimmie Austin Golf Course on campus.
Last year, they advanced to the National Championship from there.
The top seed in the region is Texas Tech, while Alabama, Ole Miss and Wake Forest round out the top five.
To advance to the National Championship, Oklahoma must finish as one of the low five teams in the region.
The low individual not on a qualifying team will also advance to the NCAA Championship.
The National Championship starts on May 26 at Grayhawk in Arizona.
The regional begins on May 15.
