URI Finishes 6th at A-10 Championship
The University of Rhode Island Golf team finished in sixth place at the Atlantic 10 Golf Championship on Sunday in Florida.
The Rams put up a team score of 904 to finish well behind first place Davidson.
Rhode Island moved up three-spots in the final round.
“We had the third best score of the day and just two more than the winner. Tough teams battle and that is what we did,” said head coach Gregg Burke.
With URI’s season coming to an end, it means the end of Brandon Gillis’ and Andrew DiPetrillo’s collegiate careers.
“It is always emotional saying goodbye to terrific players like Brandon and Andrew,” added Burke.
Bryson Richards and Gillis were named to the All-Conference team.
The Rams were led by Richards and Geronimo Narizzano, who finished in a tie for 17th.
Richards carded rounds of 74, 80 and 71, while Narizzano had rounds of 73, 78 and 74.
Gillis finished in a tie for 20th at 10-over par for the week with rounds of 71, 77 and 78.
Aidan O’Donovan and Andrew DiPetrillo finished 34th and 36th respectively.
