Chatfield Climbs Leaderboard in Round 3 of Lecom Suncoast Classic
Davis Chatfield carded a third round 67 to climb up the leaderboard in the third round of the Lecom Suncoast Classic on the Korn Ferry Tour on Saturday afternoon in Florida.
Chatfield is 12-under for the tournament and currently sits in a tie for 15th with players still on the course, at the time of this publishing.
The Notre Dame grad needed a big tournament to stay inside the Korn Ferry Tour reshuffle and to this point, he has gotten it.
Heading into the fourth round, Chatfield is projected to jump from 123rd in the points list to 83.
Chatfield’s 3rd Round
The former Rhode Island Amateur champ opened his third round with a birdie on the first hole, followed by four straight pars to remain at one-under.
He closed the first nine with three birdies in the last four holes to get to four-under for the tournament and climb inside the top ten.
Making the turn, Chatfield birdied the tenth hole to get to five under on the day before dropping a shot on 12 with a bogey.
Chatfield would get that shot back with a birdie on 14, but bogeyed the 16th to give it back.
He closed with two pars to card a 67.
